Omilia Speech Pathology offers services for toddlers, children and adolescents in Ryde, Eastwood and the surrounding suburbs.
Support is provided in clinic, via telehealth and in school or preschool settings pending availability.
Omilia Speech Pathology is a neurodiverse affirming practice that strives to provide excellent family centred, holistic, and evidence-based assessment and therapy for clients with difficulties within the following areas:
Being able to pronounce sounds clearly helps children communicate with confidence and ensures they can be easily understood by others. Therapy focuses on developing your child’s speech clarity, so their ideas and messages are heard the way they intend.
Receptive language is the ability to understand and interpret spoken and written information, follow instructions, and grasp new ideas. Expressive language is the ability to use words and sentences to share needs, wants, thoughts, and ideas with others.
Support in this area may include helping late talkers, non-speaking children, children with language delays or disorders, and children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to build their communication skills.
Literacy skills include reading (decoding words, fluency, and reading rate), reading comprehension (understanding what is read), writing (organising ideas into clear written form), and spelling (developing strong phonological awareness).
Stuttering is when speech flow is interrupted by repeating sounds, stretching words, or pauses. Therapy supports children to build fluency, confidence, and ease in communication, while guiding families with practical strategies.
Social skills focus on helping children use and understand both verbal and non-verbal communication, so they can connect with others in safe, positive, and meaningful ways.
We work with children with Medical and Developmental Conditions or additional diagnoses including by not limited to:
